Face Smasher January 18, 2010 Geoff After purchasing a $40 pillow at Costco several years back and loving it, I read the praise on this one and bought it. But I am disappointed. The cover fabric is too rigid and the fill is not dense enough. The result is waking up with a flattened pillow and my face mashed against a hard pillow cover. It's not comfortable. I find myself having to re-fluff and shape it constantly.
Hello Plastic October 11, 2009 captaincourt (Los Angeles, CA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
After reading the reviews I couldn't wait to sleep on this pillow. However, the few that mention the internal plastic lining weren't kidding. The one night I slept with it, I had a dream that I entered one of those model homes with sheets of protective plastic canvassing the furniture. I attributed the realtor character, who had yelled at me for sitting on the pseudo couch, to the irritating plastic that was humming in my ear all night long each time I took a turn. I also woke up with a neck cramp and realized that the firmness promised for a side sleeper was a salespitch. An avid Amazonite, this is the first time I have ever made a return, so not to be taken personally by the Pinzon peeps -- I'm sure the other products in the line are up to usual Amazon standards. And who knows, maybe some people are into the sensation of sleeping on polymer surfaces. Personally, I would rather be stabbed by a renegade feather on occasion.
Best sleep in a long time. June 5, 2009 Jeremy Albrecht I love it! Kind of firm at first then as soon as you put pressure on it, you kind of sink down into it. Very "form fitting." Great for sleep, not the best to "prop" yourself up in bed. Overall I am VERY happy with the build and feel of this product.
Super comfy! December 20, 2008 Dean WY (wy) These pillows are great. I sleep with 2 of these even though I really only need one. I use the other one and kind of make a little pillow fort around me. It is wonderful. These where so comfy I actually upgraded and got a down pillow topper and a down comforter too. Since upgrading my sleeping area I have slept so good, better than I have in a long time. I highly recommend these pillows.
Close to the BEST down pillow for a side sleeper! November 20, 2008 Katy Lake (The People's Republic of New Jersey) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Ever since I encountered THE perfect down pillow in a bed & breakfast we stayed in, I've been on the hunt for that pillow! It was sumptuous down, and your head sank slowly into it, but it had some "spring" and didn't souffle out like all the sad down replacements I've bought over the years.
This pillow is as close as I've come to the dream B&B pillow. You can punch it and fluff it up, and surprise! No pillow pancake! As much as I love down pillows, and with all the money I've spent on them, it never fails that eventually the pillow just loses its oomph. Not this baby.
I purposely waited for several weeks to comment on it, just to see nightly sleeping would flatten it. It remains as properly lofty, but dreamily sinkable, as the best down pillow in that old B&B.
I'd especially recommend this to a side sleeper. I read in bed, and the pillow gave me great back support, but when I turned out the lights, it morphed nicely into a comfortable, soft, yet supportive side sleeper pillow.
I liked it so much I bought a second pillow! The price is definitely right.
Just dreamy! This may not be that long-ago perfect pillow I remember, but honestly, it's as close as I've come, and that's saying a lot.
