I like hard beds, but the new bed we got was a little too hard. So I bought this topper and it made quite a difference. It is a "real" queen size as advertised and several inches thick. The way it is made keeps it from compressing to nothing under our bodies. So we would recommend this topper for people who want a little more softness. I put it under the mattress cover to keep it in place.
