Great Product July 20, 2010 Neil D. (North Pole, AK United States) Every time I step into the shower I grab one of these (I have two) and always think "what a great product". These replaced two Get-A-Grip products I had which proved to be absolutely useless after no more than two weeks use. These Saf-er-Grips on the other hand have proven excellent. Of course, I never use them to bear any significant weight. They are not intended for that. But they provide a needed handhold for stability and they have been great in that capacity. I have repositioned them a couple times seeking the best locations, but they have never once loosened on their own. I check them daily before stepping into the shower and they are always solid. I have used them over two months now and believe they have been well worth the low price I paid for them. Whenever we travel I'll be popping these off the wall and packing them in a suitcase so we can feel secure in any shower or bath.
I would recommend these to anyone needing something simple for stability in a shower or bath. Absolutely great product so far. Stay away from the cheaply made (but comparably priced) imitations!! I doubt you'll go wrong with these Saf-er-Grips.
Incidentally, I selected this product based on user reviews when I was having so much trouble with my original products. I appreciate the folks who took the time to say good things about this item. They surely helped me.
Great product July 14, 2010 R. Lambert (Hickory, NC) I installed this item in my elderly mother's bath, and it attached securely to ceramic tiles. I tried to remove it once it was properly installed and determined it to be very secure, and she loves it.
Safe-er-Grip suction grab bar July 6, 2010 Breck J. Nielson The wife had hip surgery and needed a grab bar in the shower. The Safe-er-Grip works very well without holes in the shower wall. Check the bar each use as it will eventually (several days) loose suction and can be pulled off the wall.
Does work on 4-inch tiles - JUST July 1, 2010 Bob in Wisconsin
Anonymous from California has accurate measurements which assist greatly in determining if the bar will install and adhere. Length is 16-1/2" and the distance between the centers of the 3-7/8" diameter suction cups is 12-1/2". We also have 4-inch tiles and I was able to mount the bar either vertically/horizontally or on a diagonal. It actually fit better on the diagonal, though. My only caution is that vertically/horizontally the bar JUST fits the tile spacing - if your tile installer mounted the 4-inch tiles just a bit far apart or got a little aggressive with the grout, the vertical mount might not fit without touching the grout lines, thus not adhering properly. The suction cup has to remain entirely on the tile or it won't adhere. Once properly set and adhered, this thing grips tightly. Worked for me and I'm pleased.
buy shower shoes instead June 5, 2010 G. Brown (chicago il) This was a waste of money...donot stick to wall and when its steam it comes off almost fall in the shower... i end up investing in some shower shoes and some show strips that work great...now this product is sitting under my bath room sink....it wont even hold my towels...lol
